Meet Our Speakers


Molly Ellis, RVT, FFCP, CFVP, PVFR, CVHDP

 

Molly Ellis (Myers) is a registered veterinary technician with extensive experience in emergency and critical care, veterinary technician education, and hospital operations. She holds multiple advanced credentials, including Fear Free Certified Professional (FFCP), Cat Friendly Veterinary Professional® (CFVP), Certified Veterinary Healthcare Documentation Professional (CVHDP), and is a certified instructor for both Prehospital Veterinary First Responder (PVFR) and RECOVER CPR (BLS, ALS, and Pet Rescuer).

Molly currently serves on the board of the Indiana Veterinary Technician Association (IVTA) as membership chair and is a board member of the Women's Veterinary Leadership Development Initiative (WVLDI). A dedicated educator and protocol developer, Molly has authored and implemented clinical guidelines on RECOVER CPR, blood product administration, intravenous medication safety, and emergency nursing workflows.

 

 

Danielle Gordon, DVM, MS, DAVCP

Dr. Danielle Gordon is from Prince Edward Island, Canada, and she earned her veterinary degree in 2016 from the Atlantic Veterinary College. After veterinary school, she completed a one-year rotating internship in equine medicine, surgery, and ambulatory practice at the University of Illinois. Following her internship, Dr. Gordon pursued a clinical pathology residency at the University of Illinois. During her residency, she also earned a Master of Science degree with research focused on analytic validation and evaluation of the effects of intramuscular injections on acute phase protein concentrations in horses. Dr. Gordon became board certified in clinical pathology by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists in 2021. 

After her clinical pathology residency, Dr. Gordon spent three years as an assistant professor of clinical pathology at Midwestern University where she taught and mentored veterinary students, conducted research, and provided laboratory and diagnostic services. In 2023, Dr. Gordon accepted a position at Charles River Laboratories, a contract research organization, where she provides clinical pathology expertise to aid in preclinical drug development. 

Raymond Kudej, DVM, PhD, DACVS

Dr. Ray Kudej is an Associate Professor and small animal soft tissue surgeon at Tufts University, Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. He received his DVM and completed a combined Small Animal Surgery Residency/PhD in Biomedical Engineering at Iowa State University, was a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard Medical School and an assistant professor at Penn State College of Medicine prior to working at Tufts.  He is an ACVS diplomate, Program Director of the ACVS Residency Program, a Fellow of the American Heart Association, and Section Editor at the Journal of the American Animal Hospital Association. He has published over 50 articles in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Kudej has won numerous student honors for teaching and was recently featured on the CBS daytime show, “The Drs.”.

 

 Jane Linden, DVM

Dr. Linden graduated from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. She completed an additional year of intensive training in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at Rowley Memorial Animal Hospital in Springfield, Massachusetts, and worked in a private practice for five years. In 2004, she fulfilled her dream of opening her own veterinary hospital –Providence River Animal Hospital. In addition to her veterinary education, Dr. Linden holds a bachelor’s degree from Brown University and a master’s degree in social work from Boston University. She has found her background in social work to be invaluable in helping owners make decisions about their pets. She is passionate about creating a peaceful and caring environment as owners say goodbye to their beloved pets.  Her experience performing in-home euthanasia over the last 20 years has affirmed for her that home is the best place to say goodbye to your pet.

 

Carol Reinero, DVM, DACVIM, PhD 

Dr. Carol Reinero received her DVM from the University of California-Davis. She completed a Small Animal Medicine and Surgery Rotating Internship at Texas A&M University and returned to UC Davis to complete a Small Animal Internal Medicine Residency. She received her PhD in Immunology from UC Davis. She is currently a Professor and the Director of the Comparative Internal Medicine Laboratory at the University of Missouri. She has clinical and research interests in airway disease, interstitial lung disease, aerodigestive disorders, pulmonary vascular disease and the respiratory microbiome.

She is the co-Founder and co-Director of the BREATHE (Bringing REspiration and Aerodigestion Toward HEalth) Clinic at the University of Missouri. Dr. Reinero has spoken nationally and internationally on respiratory diseases in small animals and has published well over 150 peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts and book chapters. 

 

 

Michelle Sylvester, CAETA certified technician

Michelle's journey in veterinary medicine began in 1999, blossoming from a kennel assistant to helping found Providence River Animal Hospital in 2004. As the head technician and staff manager, she cultivated comforting environments, ensuring pets and their owners experienced the utmost in care. With a certification in companion animal euthanasia from CAETA, she has championed dignified end-of-life care. In 2025, she co-founded Nature’s Pawprint Aquamation, combining this expertise with eco-friendly practices through water cremation.

 

 

 Monica Tarantino, DVM, MBA

Dr. Monica Tarantino is a small animal veterinarian and former Chief of Staff at a busy general practice in greater Charlotte, North Carolina. She is co-founder of the Senior Dog Veterinary Society and on a mission to advance the care of elderly canines in the veterinary industry. She also promotes senior dog health issues on her podcast, blog, and on various social media channels. She runs the social media platform @seniordogdoc that focuses on changing the perception of Senior Dogs.

Dr. Tarantino also co-founded the Pet Loss Community in 2021, alongside another vet and a clinical psychologist, to help support pet parents dealing with the grief of losing a pet. She has co-authored two books for new veterinarians and is an advocate for rescuing senior pets.
